About Us

Our Pastor, Brian Hood, served as a senior pastor in Columbus, MS for 25 years. He began to feel God calling him to plant a church in North Mississippi. After much prayer, Pastor Hood moved his entire family to Hernando in 2020 with little more than faith and a dream. Partnering with Longview Point Baptist Church he began to canvas and gather support.

 

In September of 2021 a small group began to meet in his family's living room and by December, we officially launched Community Point. We began meeting in the upper room of our local library. Despite our lack of so many amenities, we had the Gospel so our worship was rich. Since then, we have grown, laughed, cried, renovated, and lived life together. We are grateful for our beginning because it taught us that all you need is God's Word. Though we have much more these days and so many more hands to help us, we will never forget those initial days when all we could do was trust and wait.
